Top Left:
Britney Philips-- "It just came out of nowhere. I was busy peckin' away when, my third soon-to-be chick wanted out, and wanted out NOW. That's embarrassing."
Top Right
Cathy Sevard -- "As a Americuna ('Easter Egger"), and a mom, I never thought it would happen again. Until last week, when I had my second clutch. I already have 4 chicks--three girls , one boy. Just hope this clutch is as healthy as the last one."
Bottom Left:
Suze Ogden-- "Funny view, huh. I'm Suzanne, you can call me Suze, and I'm about to be a mom. As the only docile Buff Orphington in the county, I don't peck your hands if you're around me while I'm nesting. As you may see, I was laying my first egg, it's my first time laying a fertilized egg, I only lay non-fertilized ones from time to time, so I was asking that if the egg was *ahem* 'crowning'. Allison, one of the owners of some backyard hens (I'm one myself) saw what was happening, and I was not scared at all."
Bottom Right:
Laren Kent-- (with just hatched son, Marcus): "I didn't know that Marcus, had already hatched when I was laying my 4th egg. I was busy laying when I heard a faint voice. 'Mom?' Then I knew that he had hatched. I inched back-- MID-LAY I MAY ADD--and the 4th egg was laid. Without landing on Marcus' head. Betcha no other hen in Connecticut has done that before!"
